MEDIA RELEASE - September 2011

HERE’S THE BUZZ ON DREAMWORLD’S SPRING HOLIDAY OFFERING

Get ready for a ripper of a ride this September school holidays, when Dreamworld officially opens its new bone-chilling Big 7 thrill ride, BuzzSaw, alongside a host of fresh and fun additions all on offer from just $119.99 for unlimited entry until June 2012.

Opening in time for the September school holiday period, Dreamworld’s new scream machine, BuzzSaw, is an Australian first and will be the ride to conquer for high-action adrenaline seekers.

Seated in an open carriage, riders will be held in by a single waist harness leaving the upper body fully exposed to the elements, and with little to cling onto.  This white-knuckle ride starts with a suspenseful 46m vertical ascent that will have riders instantly wishing they were back on the ground.

At its peak, the rider’s centre of gravity is flipped and they are dangled upside-down 15 storeys in the air before the ride car free-falls through a 360 degree heart roll, and plummets down a final vertical drop at speeds of up to 105km/hour.   BuzzSaw will be the highest inversion ride experience in the Southern Hemisphere.

After you test out the park’s newest thrill keep the Buzz going with a Banana Buzz smoothie or the juice of your flavour as Dreamworld teams up with BOOST Juice, with a brand new store opening at the entrance to Gold Rush Country.

From the Green Tea Mango Mantra, to the King William Chocolate to the freshly blended Two & Five juice, guests will be able to indulge in good health as they enjoy their day of play at Dreamworld and WhiteWater World.

Feeling boosted, now it’s time to head to The Lair and brave Dreamworld’s new carnivore encounter, the Tiger Feed Experience, which is open for six guests each day for just $55 per person.

The only location in South East Queensland where you can feed a tiger, this experience must be pre-booked and is available to guests 13 years and older.  The 15 minute session begins at 10am and includes an intimate briefing session with Dreamworld handlers to learn about a tigers diet, its behavioural patterns, tiger husbandry and of course, how to safely tong-feed the majestic animals.

One-by-one guests will ascend into the glass walled feeding tunnel which leads to a second storey feeding station where they will tong feed one of the park’s beautiful 200kg Bengals a hearty breakfast.

The ultimate day of fun for all the family, Dreamworld is home to more than 30 rides and attractions so you can watch the tigers play on Tiger Island, pat a kangaroo in the Australian Wildlife Experience before taking on the rides including brand new adventure ride, ShockWave.

Take a journey to an undersea world to reach a hydro-energy plant, the docking station for the huge 24 person deep sea discovery vessel known as The ShockWave.  Grab some seats with your family or friends, lock yourself in and get ready to explore the great deep.

It only takes a few moments before initial gentle sways to take a turn for the worse and become 360 degree spins of fury as riders are propelled at over 50kph down a 63m long wave-like track that plunges and climbs all while circling at 12 revolutions per minute at up to 2.5Gs.  Opened in June, Shockwave is an electrifying and fun open air adventure that promises to leave you spinning.

World Pass holders can swap shorts for swimsuits, to slip through the interconnecting gate and slide in for the ride of your life at WhiteWater World!

Take on the park’s adrenaline slides including The Wedgie, The Green Room and The HydroCoaster, or let your littlies go wild in the Pipeline Plunge and Wiggle Bay before retreating to your own private poolside Cabana, complete with deck chairs, couches, coffee table, iPod dock, mini refrigerator and cabana service person for all your additional needs.

For the introductory price of $89 you can rent one of 12 new WhiteWater World Cabanas for a full day providing you with a private space to enjoy some relaxation out of the sun and away from the crowds.  Located throughout WhiteWater World, Cabanas are designed to comfortably fit up to four people and will sell out quick, so book online prior to your next visit.
