TIger Feed Experience

The launch of theTiger Feed Experience at The Lair has meant guests now have the opportunity to get closer than ever before to Dreamworld’s tigers.

The unique new carnivore experience is the only location in South East Queensland where guests can feed a tiger. The 15 minute experience is available to just 6 guests per day and is $55 per person.

Commencing at 10am, guests are ushered behind the scenes of The Lair to chat one-on-one with Dreamworld handlers to learn about a tigers diet, its behavioural patters, tiger husbandry and of course, how to safely tong-feed a 200kg big cat.

One-by-one guests will ascend into the glass walled feeding tunnel which leads to a second storey feeding station where they will tong feed one of the park’s beautiful Bengals a hearty breakfast.

Opened in April 2011, The Lair is one of Australia’s most interactive exhibits, and allows guests to come face-to-face with its inhabitants all safely behind purpose-built, triple laminated, toughened glass, built to withstand the force of a charging full grown big cat.

The glass walls give opportunity for guests to marvel at the significant size of the tigers and specially built openings in the wall bring guests close enough to feel their breath.

Themed as if entering a native village, the highly interactive exhibit allows guests to literally walk alongside the jungle kings and come face to face with them feeling their breath through slatted panels.

The enclosure has been purpose built to allow guests viewing the feeding experience from ground floor to see all the action.  On-lookers can wander underneath the second storey feeding box which has been built with a glass floor allowing perfect views of the feed just centimeters away.  In some instances it will appear as if participants are inside the enclosure walls, however a mesh wall separates the guests from the 200kg cats.

As a gift to remember their experience, guests will be given a souvenir photograph of their encounter to take home or can opt to upgrade their experience to receive a USB with all the images taken that morning for just $10 extra.

A portion of all funds raised from the Tiger Feed Experience will go to the Dreamworld Conservation Fund to help protect big cats in the wild.  Dreamworld is passionate and committed to saving tigers in the wild and has donated $1.4 million dollars to the cause.

Guests must be 13 years and older to take part in the Tiger Feed Experience and all guests under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

The Tiger Feed Experience must be pre-booked to secure your place.  Book online at www.dreamworld.com.au or phone (07) 5588 1111.
