Take a morning stroll with a difference

Dreamworld is the only place in Australia where you can wake up and walk with a rare Bengal tiger as they take their morning stretch around the colourful theme park rides.

Guaranteed to give you with dinner conversation with a difference, the exclusive one hour package is available five days a week for up to five people each day prior to park operational hours.
“As far as we know, Dreamworld is the only place in the Southern Hemisphere and possibly the world, where theme park guests can walk with a tiger,” said Tiger Island Manger, Patrick Martin-Vegue. ”It’s truly amazing to stroll within arm’s reach of a tiger and it is certainly something you will never forget.”

Throughout the walk guests can pat the tigers, chat with the tiger handlers and learn more about the sad plight of these magnificent cats in the wild. There are several stops for photo opportunities and if you are lucky enough you can see the Daddy of the Island, Mohan, playfully tumble down his favourite lump of leaves. “That said, guest safety is our number one priority so the walk is conducted under the careful supervision and guidance of our experienced tiger handlers and restricted to people aged 15 years and over,” added Mr Martin-Vegue “Comfortable walking shoes and agile legs are also a must as the tigers often like to go ‘off-road’ walking along the steam train tracks and the scrubland behind the more popular thrill rides.” Dreamworld’s six Bengal tigers have been leash trained since they were very small cubs.
“They are extremely comfortable with people and different surroundings so the walks are both physically and mentally stimulating. They really enjoy it. They are very inquisitive and interested in the sights and sounds of the park so guests will get to see many behaviours that are not obvious to the general public visiting Tiger Island.”

“Tigers are most active in the mornings and you really get to enjoy them at their best.”

Tiger walks are held between 8am and 9am five days per week and cost $695 for up to four people. For bookings and more information, contact Dreamworld on +61 7 5588 1111 or check out www.dreamworld.com.au.

A percentage of funds raised from all Tiger Walks is donated directly to saving tigers in the wild. In the early 1900s, there were more than 100,000 tigers. Today, there are less than 4,000 due to poaching and habitat loss.

Located on Australia’s Gold Coast, Dreamworld is open from 10am to 5pm every day except Christmas Day (25/12) and Anzac Day (25/4).
