Most people have visions of thrills and spills when they think of Dreamworld and WhiteWater World. But behind the colourful main gates that hold some of the maddest rides on earth are two parks with giant hearts,. actively committed to philanthropy, community and environmental conservation within the South East Queensland communities.
In 07/08 Dreamworld and WhiteWater World supported 288 community events giving away hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of in-kind support and tickets to organizations that
- Created escape to fun and excitement for sick, disabled and underprivileged children
- Promoted prosperity in our local community and
- Helped preserve our local environment including our wildlife for future generations.
Highlights include:
- Becoming Queensland’s largest corporate sponsor of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) and contributing $70,000 towards RMHC activities to support for families of seriously ill children.
- Launching “Save the Koala Day” and generating widespread publicity for an icon in need.
- Teaming up with Virgin Blue and Mix FM to create a December to remember and a day out in the park for 80 people experiencing tough times over Christmas.
- Hosted a celebrity-filled Shave for a Cure event raising approximately $8000 among staff and guests for the Leukemia Foundation.
- Coordinating presence of native and wild animals at Endangered Species Day in the Queen Street Mall.
- Hosting the media launch for the Cancer Council’s World’s Biggest Tea Party.
