  • Ensure assets rely predominately on revenue from domestic leisure markets and limit exposure to international leisure markets.

Our History

In 1974, John Longhurst bought 85 hectares of land to build his dream. With a few attractions and a lot of heart, Dreamworld opened to the public on December 15, 1981.

Almost three decades later, Dreamworld has developed into Australia’s favourite theme park full of immersive visitor experiences from some of the world’s tallest, fastest white knuckle thrill rides to a conservation-focused wildlife park with more than 800 native Australian animals.
In 2006, Dreamworld “went water” and opened a $60 million water ride park right next door. Packed with water-powered wow, WhiteWater World is the only water park in the world boasting all four of the hottest waterslides on the planet.

Today, the two parks provide cutting edge venues and options for business and conference delegates and both have been successful in leveraging national and international brand associations with leading entertainment partners including Big Brother, Nickelodeon and The Wiggles.

Each year, Dreamworld and WhiteWater World welcome more than 80,000 school children to explore new and innovative learning experiences under the banner of education tourism.

The parks are responsible members of the community implementing leading environmental and conservation initiatives for a sustainable tourism future and they contribute to the local community and culture through participation, sponsorship, sourcing suppliers and supporting charitable organisations for animals and people.
