Ardent Leisure

Intro

Ardent Leisure is one of Australia's most successful owners and operators of premium leisure assets including the Dreamworld, WhiteWater World & SkyPoint theme parks and attractions. AMF and Kingpin Bowling, d'Albora Marinas, Goodlife Health Clubs, as well as Main Event, which is a growing portfolio of family entertainment assets in the United States.

Located in Queensland's Gold Coast, Ardent's Theme Parks portfolio consists of the Dreamworld theme park, WhiteWater World water park, and the SkyPoint Observation Deck on levels 77 & 78 of Surfers Paradise's iconic Q1 Tower.


Dreamworld and WhiteWater World are owned and operated by the Ardent Leisure Group, a stapled entity listed on the Australian Stock Exchange.

The Group consists of a listed property trust (Ardent Leisure Trust) dedicated to investment in leisure based property assets and an operator that leases the properties from the trust and operates the business (Ardent Leisure Limited).

Objectives and Strategy

The Group seeks to provide investors with income and capital returns through the hands on management of a diverse portfolio of leisure based property assets.

The Group’s strategy is to target underperforming leisure businesses and apply expert management skills to turn around performance and deliver growing returns to investors.

The following criteria are utilised to build the Group’s asset portfolio
  • Secure assets in close proximity to major domestic population centres
  • Provide an incremental positive impact upon distributions
  • Ensure quality and stability of earnings through exposure to multiple creditworthy tenants
  • Achieve diversity in income streams through investment in a range of leisure asset classes and geographic locations and
  • Ensure assets rely predominately on revenue from domestic leisure markets and limit exposure to international leisure markets.

Dreamworld

Among our many attractions, Dreamworld has the tallest and fastest thrill rides in Australia, as well as precincts dedicated to DreamWorks™ and The Wiggles™, offering fun for people of every age.

Dreamworld is also home to Tiger Island, the world's largest interactive tiger facility.

Tiger Island
The largest interactive tiger facility in the world, featuring 11 of the big cats, Tiger Island has become an integral contributor to worldwide conservation of tigers in the wild. Funds raised from in-person experiences including tiger photos, tiger walks and tiger feeding, are valuable contributors to this cause and offer a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience for all who take part.

Dreamworld Corroboree
Dreamworld's newest world is Dreamworld Corroboree - an interactive walk-through experience celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, wildlife and stories. The new world delivers a memorable and authentic connection with all that is Australia.

DreamWorks™ Precinct
Opened in early 2012, the DreamWorks™ precinct is the only official Australian residence of famous DreamWorks™ movie characters.

Wiggles World
The Wiggles have created a world of wiggly magic for families to enjoy every day of the year - the only one in the world.

A convenient and popular location

Dreamworld is conveniently located at the northern end of Queensland's popular Gold Coast, just minutes from the Coomera Railway Station (part of the Brisbane-Gold Coast rail link).

Dreamworld is a:
  • 45 minute drive from Brisbane.
  • 20 minute drive from Surfers Paradise.

Both cities are key tourism destinations and residential areas.

WhiteWater World

Co-located with Dreamworld, Dreamworld's sister attraction is Whitewater World. Featuring ground-breaking technology to deliver some serious splash, WhiteWater World complements the Dreamworld experience with 30 thrill slides and 22 lifeguards, including dedicated precincts for toddlers though to thrill seekers.

And just like in Dreamworld, WhiteWater World offers thrilling aquatic rush with its big 7 thrill slides, with a new slide coming in 2014. Plus WhiteWater World offers a complete experience with plenty of activities for the whole family including: 

Wiggle Bay
A wet wiggly world of fun in a mini water park designed for under-fives.

Pipeline Plunge
The ultimate kids adventure aquatic playground, in an enormous 'tree fort' structure, Pipeline Plunge has recently received a makeover and is ready to delight young visitors all year round.

Cave of Waves
Cave of Waves - our massive wave pool with a 2,685 square metre body of water promises the perfect wave every time, with an ocean like swell that can be programmed to reach heights of 1.4 metres.

WhiteWater World now has 12 luxury cabanas located throughout the water park for guests to rent.

SkyPoint

Make your start point at SkyPoint

Known throughout Australia and internationally, SkyPoint is Australia's highest beach-side observation deck, offering spectacular 360 degree views of the Gold Coast, from the beautiful beaches to the lush hinterland.

Rising 230m into the sky, SkyPoint is located on Level 77 & 78 of the iconic Q1 Building in southern Surfers Paradise. After ascending in one of the world's fastest lifts, guests to the observation deck can discover the region's history, culture and tourism treasures.

SkyPoint also offers a beachside dining experience like no other on the Gold Coast at Seventy7 Cafe & Bar, offering a menu as attractive as the views.

SkyPoint is the Gold Coast's highest, most unique conferencing and events venue. Open all year round for day and night functions, SkyPoint is versatile and inspiring venue that can easily be tailored to suit a range of functions from birthdays to special occasions to large corporate functions.

Guests to SkyPoint can also experience the most exhilarating adventure experience on the Gold Coast with the SkyPoint Climb. Australia's highest external building walk, SkyPoint Climb, takes climbers on an adventure 240 metres above street level. From here, climbers ascend to the summit harnessed to a purpose-built safety rail system.

Once at the summit, climbers soak in the 360 degree views, have their photo taken and have an opportunity to speak with the Climb Leader about the region, before descending back down to the SkyPoint Observation Deck.

Our History

In 1974, John Longhurst bought 85 hectares of land to build his dream. With a few attractions and a lot of heart, Dreamworld opened to the public on December 15, 1981.

Almost three decades later, Dreamworld has developed into Australia’s favourite theme park full of immersive visitor experiences from some of the world’s tallest, fastest white knuckle thrill rides to a conservation-focused wildlife park with more than 800 native Australian animals.

In 2006, Dreamworld “went water” and opened a $60 million water ride park right next door. Packed with water-powered wow, WhiteWater World is the only water park in the world boasting all four of the hottest waterslides on the planet.

Today, the two parks provide cutting edge venues and options for business and conference delegates and both have been successful in leveraging national and international brand associations with leading entertainment partners including Big Brother, Dreamworks Animation LCC and The Wiggles.

Each year, Dreamworld and WhiteWater World welcome more than 80,000 school children to explore new and innovative learning experiences under the banner of education tourism.

The parks are responsible members of the community implementing leading environmental and conservation initiatives for a sustainable tourism future and they contribute to the local community and culture through participation, sponsorship, sourcing suppliers and supporting charitable organisations for animals and people.
